Every three minutes, someone dies in a road accident in India (MoRTH, Road Accidents in India 2023). Most of those deaths happen not because help failed to arrive, but because help arrived without knowing what to do.
The problem
First responders arrive blind.
When someone is unconscious after an accident, the people trying to help them face a wall of unknowns. What blood group? Any allergies? What medications are they on? Who do we call?
Getting those answers wrong, or taking too long to find them, can be fatal. Giving the wrong blood type, administering a drug someone is allergic to, not reaching family in time.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' (MoRTH) Road Accidents in India 2023 report, two-thirds of road accident deaths are people aged 18-45, the years when fast access to medical information at the scene matters most.

Founder & CEO, Emercode™
Nishad Raviraj Shimpi is the founder and CEO of Emercode, India's emergency medical identity platform, built from Nashik, Maharashtra. Emercode began from a simple observation: in India's emergencies, the gap between life and death is often not a lack of help, but a lack of information available at the scene. Nishad built Emercode to close that gap.
He holds a degree in mechanical engineering and has worked across product, marketing, and engineering before founding Emercode. He leads the company's product and engineering from Nashik.
